bixlersHi,
I’d appreciate your help identifying which link I should use to access the form in the browser with the download options already populated.
Currently, we are using the link below, which previously allowed users to view the content without needing login credentials. However, it is no longer working without requiring authentication:
https://submit.jotform.com/pdf-editor/view/232255187215252/10233454465980060/6455953052712608570
I’m looking for assistance in finding an alternative way to generate a link that allows external users to access the form without needing login credentials.
Thank you -
Podo: Support SpecialistHi,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
The link you are currently using to access the PDF Editor with download options requires login credentials due to privacy settings that enforce authentication for file access.
To allow external users to access the form and download options without needing login credentials, you should use the PDF Link feature in email notifications or autoresponders. This generates a direct download link to the PDF submission that does not require login.
Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.
- Select the Emails tab.
- Edit the notification or autoresponder email.
- Add the PDF Link tag {pdf-link} in the email content. This tag will be replaced with a direct download link for the PDF submission.
Note that if you want to disable the login requirement for viewing or downloading files, you need to adjust your form's privacy settings accordingly. You can refer to the guide on How to Unrequire Log-in to View Uploaded Files for detailed instructions.
This method provides a link that external users can use to access the form's PDF without needing to log in.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

bixlersThis response didn’t address what I need.
I’m looking for the URL parameter(s) to generate an external link so the customer can access the already-filled form.
Keep in mind I have multiple form templates, so the URL must specify which form template/model is being used. -
Podo: Support SpecialistHi,
To generate an external link that allows customers to access an already-filled form, especially when you have multiple form templates, you can use Jotform's Prefill feature. This feature lets you prepopulate a form with data and share the prefilled form URLs with your users.
Here’s how you can manage this:
- Use the Prefill feature in Jotform: This allows you to create URLs that open the form with fields already filled with specific data.
- Specify the form template/model: Each form has a unique Form ID or a custom URL slug that identifies the form template. You can use these in the URL to specify which form template is being accessed.
- Share the prefilled form URL: You can send these URLs directly from the Form Builder or copy and share them externally.
The structure of a custom form URL looks like this:
https://form.jotform.com/{yourUsername}/{your-custom-url-slug}
For more detailed steps on how to create and share prefilled forms, you can refer to Jotform's guide on What is Jotform Prefill and How Does It Work.
If you want to keep the form link active, ensure the form is not deleted or disabled, and your account is in good standing.
Let us know if you need more specific instructions on setting up prefilled URLs for multiple templates.

Aries JotForm SupportHi bixlers,
I’ve gone ahead and reported this to our Developers so they can figure out what’s going on. We’ll be back with an update as soon as we can.
-
bixlersHi,
Any updates on the developers’ equipment?
-
bixlersJust to reinforce my request, we are currently using the following link to access the completed forms:
https://submit.jotform.com/pdf-editor/view/232255187215252/10233454465980060/6067213178156715223
This allows store employees to access completed customer forms without needing to use login credentials.
If there is any way to enable downloading the forms without requiring user credentials, we would greatly appreciate it. Without this capability, the team’s efficiency is being impacted.
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you -
LaurenHi bixlers,
