Salesforce Integration: Request to Add Update Action for Found Records

Would Jotform be able to deliver a feature to add a simple "Update" Action to the "Find Existing Record" Action in Salesforce Integration?

We have use cases to where "Find Existing Record" is retrieving an existing record in Salesforce when it exists, else creating a new record in Salesforce when a match isn't found.

However, when we do find an existing record, we do not have an option to simply "Update" the record's targeted fields as needed. (It is understood that "Create or Update" command does not allow Users to update the record found in the subsequent action "Find Existing Record", as that action only does updates records via Upsert when a Duplicate Rule fires off).

This would be a huge advantage to the Jotform product, and allow us to expand our use of the App.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Hi Preston,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Regarding your request for a simple "Update" action in the "Find Existing Record" action within the Salesforce integration, currently, Jotform's Salesforce integration allows the following:

    • Find existing records using Salesforce's standard matching rules.
    • Create or update a record using the "Create or Update" action, which updates records via upsert when duplicate rules fire.
    • Update an existing record option that attempts to update Salesforce data when matching records are found based on selected fields.

However, the specific feature to add a standalone "Update" action directly after "Find Existing Record" to simply update targeted fields of the found record is not explicitly mentioned as available in the current integration capabilities.

The integration does support updating existing records when duplicates are found and the "Update an existing record" option is enabled, but this is tied to the duplicate checking and upsert process rather than a separate update action following a find operation.

Your suggestion to have a dedicated "Update" action after finding a record would indeed be a valuable enhancement to expand the flexibility of the Salesforce integration with Jotform.

For now, the best approach is to use the existing "Create or Update" or "Update an existing record" options within the integration settings to handle updates when duplicates are detected.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello! Can this feature "Update action after finding a record" for Salesforce integration get added to Jotform's roadmap? This would provide a high priority feature we really need.

    Hi Preston,

Regarding your request to add a feature for an "Update" action after finding a record in the Salesforce integration, I have reviewed the current information available about Jotform's Salesforce Agent and integration capabilities.

Currently, Jotform allows setting up various actions for the Salesforce Agent, including creating, updating, or showing records during conversations. These actions can be configured in the Salesforce Agent Builder under the Actions section, where you can add and customize fields for creating or updating records.

However, there is no explicit mention of a standalone "Update" action that directly follows a "Find Existing Record" action to update targeted fields separately. The existing integration supports updating records through upsert operations when duplicates are found, but not as a distinct update step after finding a record.

Your suggestion for adding such a feature is valuable and would enhance the flexibility of the Salesforce integration with Jotform. While I cannot confirm if this feature is currently on the roadmap, your feedback is important and can be considered for future improvements.

Let us know if you have any other questions or need assistance with the current Salesforce integration features.

Reach out again if you need any other help.

    Hi Preston,

While that feature isn’t available in Jotform right now, I’ve sent your request to our Developers for review. When or if it gets developed will depend on their current workload, how possible it is, and how much demand there is from other users. If/when we have any updates, we’ll follow up here and keep you posted.
