I would like to create an email that ask for permission to add into mailing list

I would like to make an email that I will send to a friend asking their permission to add their name to my mailing list. I would like to do this by creating a button in Jotform so when my friend receives and reads the email they can select the button which will send an email to me giving me permission.

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Presently, it isn't possible to use Action Button's Send Email feature to send an email asking to be added into a mailing list or not, then click on the dedicated link to be added into the mailing list. You might consider other third-party mailing service to do this.

But you can consider collecting the permission using form created by Jotform. You can create a form similar to this, and integrated it with your third-party mailing service. What will happen is, when the respondent submits the form, their email address will automatically add into the mailing list.
