I have two forms created:
I want the data I enter into form 1 to flow into form two when it is submitted. I am having trouble making the forms connect. Can you assist?
Thank you!

Hi GEM,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.
To make data flow from one form to another upon submission, you can use Jotform's 'Update / Calculate Field' widget or set up a pre-population URL to pass data between forms. Let me walk you through it:
- Open your first form in the Form Builder.
- Go to the Settings tab and select the Conditions section.
- Create a new condition to send data to the second form using a pre-populated URL or integrate the Update / Calculate Field widget accordingly.
This will connect your forms and transfer the data as needed.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi kirkkeenan,
You can pass the data from form 1 to form 2. To do that, you'll need to get the Unique Name of the source and target field. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, select the field and click on the Gear icon.
- Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to Field Details.
- Copy the Unique Name.
Now, in the Thank You Page of the first form, you will need to set the landing page. Here's how to do it: This way, once someone finishes the first form, they'll be automatically directed to the second form with the prefilled data. Let me show you how to set that up:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
- In the menu that opens on the left side of the page, click on Thank You Page.
- Now, select Redirect to External Link and paste the URL of the second form.
The URL looks similar to the following:
https://www.jotform.com/252218396904260?facility={facility}&typeOf={typeOf}
Reach out again if you have any other questions.

Thank you for your response. When I submit, it only takes me to the next form. I don't want to be redirected to that form. I only want the data to populate in that form and alert another person that is has been filled out so they can enter additional data.

Hi kirkkeenan,
You can do this via Jotform Workflows. After a form filler submits the Form 1, it will send an email to the next form filler to fill up the prefilled Form 2. Here's how to do that:
1. In Workflow Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
2. Under the Basic tab, drag and drop the Form element.
3. Click on Complete Settings and in the pop-up window, select your Form 2 and set the Assignee Email Address.
4. Next, under the Prefill tab, enable the Prefill Form Fields option and just below it, select your Form 1 for the Select a Source Form to Get Data From option and match the fields of your forms.
5. Once the configuration is done, click on Save, and that's it.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

I cannot seem to locate my form in the drop down. Do you know why that could be?

Hi kirkkeenan,
Is the Form that you are looking for already associated with another Workflow? Take note that you can only use a Form once in any Workflow. I have reviewed your 2nd Form and currently, it is already used on another Workflow, which is why it isn't available on the Dropdown.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
