Source of where an user came from

Is there a way to track the source of a link—for example, whether a user came from Facebook, our website, or another source? I did not see this insight in the Form Analytics.

    Thank you so much

    Hi Lotus,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:

You can track where users came from by adding the Get Referrer widget to your form. This widget captures the referrer URL, showing if users came from Facebook, your website, or other sources. You can view this data in Jotform Tables.

    To add it:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder.
    2. Click Add Element and go to the Widgets tab.
    3. Search for Get Referrer and add it to your form.

Note that sometimes privacy settings or browser restrictions may limit the data captured. For better tracking, consider using tools like Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel integration.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Jotform Support

    Hi Lotus,

Unfortunately, Jotform Analytics doesn’t include referral tracking, so it won’t show whether a user accessed your form from Facebook, your website, or another source.

As a workaround, if you're embedding the same form across multiple pages and want to identify which specific page a submission came from, you can add Get Form page URL widget into your form. Let me show you how:

    1. In the Form Builder, click the Add Element on the top left side of the page.
    2. Select the Widgets tab.
    3. Search for and click the Get Form Page URL to add it into your form.

Source of where an user came from Image 1 Screenshot 20 If you'd like to capture the web page a user was on before they landed on your form, you can use the Get Referrer widget. It automatically records the referring URL and includes it with the submission data.

Once you get submissions, these data will be added into your submissions table and can be added to your Notification Email.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.
