Spreadsheet to Form widget is not populating fields consistently

I have the spreadsheet to form widget in a form where there is a dropdown element called "Home Office". The trigger for the widget is "Employee Name". When the employee name is entered correctly, it is supposed to include the "Home Office" of that employee in the appropriate field. However, it does it for some employees, but not all and I can't figure it out. It seems to NOT input anyone that has a "Home Office" of "NHMPD" or "Remote". There may be others. But it does enter someone with a "Home Office" of "Brunswick Forest" or "Scotts Hill".

My spreadsheet has the appropriate column names (i.e. Employee Name, Email, Home Office) and populates all fields correctly with the exception of "Home Office"... where it only populates some correctly.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shipley,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Regarding the Spreadsheet to Form widget not populating the "Home Office" field for some employees, here are some key points to check:

    • The widget requires the unique code ("Employee Name" in your case) to match exactly, including case sensitivity, with the spreadsheet entries.
    • Ensure that the column names in your spreadsheet exactly match the form field labels, including "Home Office".
    • The widget accepts only XLS or XLSX files; other formats like CSV or Google Sheets are not supported.
    • Check if the values like "NHMPD" or "Remote" have any extra spaces or formatting issues in the spreadsheet that might prevent matching.
    • The widget supports dropdown fields, so ensure your "Home Office" dropdown options match the spreadsheet values exactly.

Reviewing these points should help resolve the issue with partial data population. If the problem persists, double-check the spreadsheet data for inconsistencies or formatting differences.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Jotform Support

    Hi Shipley,

So that we can understand what's going on better, can you share with us your excel file with a few sample data? Including one that works and that doesn't work will help us identify what's wrong and allow us to help you further. You can upload the file to a third party file sharing website like Google Drive and share the public link with us.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

I figured out the error... many of the cells had an extra space in them that created the problem. For example... instead of NHMPD, it had NHMPD_

    Thanks!
