    Hi Louis,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Let me help you with that:

To attach a document or image from Form 1 to Form 2 using the field name fileReference, you can use the Field Manager app to copy fields between forms. This app allows you to copy the file upload field from Form 1 (ID: 252058186420050) to Form 2 (ID: 252127788887476) without manually recreating it.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. Open the Field Manager app at https://fieldmanager.jotform.io/.
    2. Select Form 1 and load its fields.
    3. Select Form 2 to load its fields.
    4. Copy the fileReference field from Form 1 to Form 2 using the app’s interface.

This will help you link the file upload field between the two forms efficiently.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Jotform Support

    Hi Louis,

To my understanding, you want to prepopulate or pass the value of the file uploaded on your form 1 to your form 2. Is that right? If yes, unfortunately, it's not possible to prepopulate a document or image being uploaded in the File Upload field. If this is not what you're referring to, can you explain more about what you want to happen?

After we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with this.

Form 1 is my job order form, which i need to attach some documents or image

Form 2 is my delivery order, which my technician can refer to the image or doc attached from the previous form.

    Hi Louis,

Again, it's not possible to pass the value of the image/document uploaded on your first form to your second form. If you want, you can add another Email field to your Job Order form and set up an Autoresponder email that will be sent to your technician. This way, he can have a copy of the submission of the first form, showing the image or document that has been uploaded. You can add a Default Value to the Email field, which is the email address of your technician. Let me walk you through this:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page and select Email from the left side window.
    2. Next, click on the Gear icon of the Email field and enter your preferred Field Label from the General tab, which is on the right side of the page.
    3. Then, from the Advanced tab, enter the email address of the technician in the Default Value field and toggle on the Hide Field option. I want to prepopulate the document or image from form 1 to form 2 Image 1 Screenshot 50

Let's now add the Autoresponder email:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings on the orange navigation bar at the top of the page and from the left side window, select Emails.
    2. Next, click on Add Email and select Autoresponder Email.
    3. Then, from the Recipients tab, select the Email field that's been added.
    4. Finally, click on Save on the lower right side of the page. I want to prepopulate the document or image from form 1 to form 2 Image 2 Screenshot 61

Also, to stop our system from asking your technician to login to see/download the submission attachments, we just need to disable the requirement to Login to View Uploaded Files. It's easy to do. Let me walk you through it:

    1. Login to your Jotform account on your Desktop (it's not available yet on the Mobile App).

    2. Click on your Avatar/Profile picture on the right side of the screen, and click on it.

    3. In the dropdown, click on Settings, or click on this link to go directly to your Settings page.

    4. Now, go to the Security tab and uncheck the box next to Require Login to View Uploaded Files under the Privacy section.
