How can I not allow spaces in Short Text fields?

I would like to know how to not allow spaces to be entered in short text fields.

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. In order to not allow spaces to be inserted into a Short Text field, you can use the Input Mask in the settings. You'll be able to restrict users to match the format you specify in the Short Field. It's quite easy to do that. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Gear icon next to your Short Text field and select the Options tab on the right panel.
2. Scroll down to Input Mask, toggle it on, and insert how you'd like the field to be filled out. Use @ symbol to mask letters, # for numbers and * for both. And that's it.

Now, you can set up the fields how you want the users to fill it out.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work.

I had already tried this solution but I do not know in advance the number of characters that will be entered by the person who fills out the form. If I don't put enough @ we can't enter all the text and if I put too much I have an error message saying that the value of the field must fill the mask.

Unfortunately it is not possible to not allow spaces on Short Text field. While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
