I have created this form to use for an online store we are working on. I see that there is a Tax option on the widget that can calculate tax automatically. We work with a number of exempt customers so not everyone will be taxable.
I'd like to create a conditional field that only calculates tax for customers who are taxable in our Nexus states. I don't see a way to pull the "Total" field information from the widget. Is there a way to do this?

Hi WCEPS,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand what you’d like to do, but I’ll need a bit of time to work out a solution. I’ll get back to you shortly.
Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it.

Hi WCEPS,
It's possible to pass the Total from the Product List, but it would be the total amount. It's not possible to pass the amount without the tax. What you can do is disable the tax from the Product List, then add a question whether the amount is taxable or not. The total amount with tax will be calculated using Update/Calculate Field conditional logic. Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
- Click on Conditions on the left side of the screen.
- Click on Add Condition, then select Update/Calculate Field.
- Set the calculation like what you see in the screenshot below, then click on Save.
In the above condition, the tax is 10%.
Now, in the second Form Calculation widget, you will just add the amount from the Product List and the Tax Amount.
Feel free to test this demo form that I created.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
