I am trying to do a very simple activity, but am having trouble. I just want to update a Salesforce contact record. I DO NOT want to create anything under any circumstances.
Here is my mapping:
Here are my matching criteria from Salesforce
Please do not respond by pointing me to any other Jotform questions or answers. If it is possible to update Salesforce records, please present me with a specific example where you have tested this and shown that Jotform can update a Salesforce contact or let me know how I can edit my existing information to accomplish this.
Thanks in advance

Hi Rich,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm afraid this is the correct process if you want to update a record in Salesforce. The Create a Record fields will be used to match and locate the data from the Form to Salesforce to be able to update it.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Can you or a colleague test this in Salesforce and show me that it is able to work?

Hi Rich,
I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi Rich,
When we tested on our end, what you're trying to do can't be done. If a record is not found, it can't be skipped. It's not possible only to update records without creating them. As a workaround, you might consider creating a prefill and check if the record is found and if not, to disable the submit button.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
