How to add a calculation so that the quantity on the payment field matches how many entries the user has submitted, and it's set so they can't change it?

    Hi Colin,

To better assist you with setting up a calculation that controls the quantity in your payment field, can you explain a bit more about what you're trying to achieve with that set up? Are you aiming to charge users based on how many of these entries they submit?

In the meantime, you can check out our Form Calculation guide, which walks you through creating and using calculations within your form.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with this.

Thanks for that. I'm trying to charge an entry fee per artwork submitted. If for example the user entered information in 3 "Title" fields, then I want the quantity in the payment field to be preset at 3.

I've had a read of the guide but it looks very complicated.

    Hi Colin,

I understand you'd like to calculate the total quantity of the products selected in your form. Unfortunately, the Product List field within the Payment integration doesn't provide direct access to individual product quantities or a way to perform calculations on them.

In your current set up, one possible solution is to add a description to the product item to guide users in selecting the correct quantity based on the number of their entries. This can help ensure they match the number of submissions with the quantity selected in the payment field.

    1. In Form Builder, click on your Product List field and the gear icon on the right to open the product settings.
    2. Under Basic tab, enter the description regarding the user's number of entries.
    3. Once done, click on Save.

Let us know if you need any more help.

Thanks Adrian. That's a real shame. I will do the guide as you say but it would be great if there was a way of fixing this. Let me know if there are any updates. Cheers.

    Hi Colin,

While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
