How to select Find Existing Record option in Salesforce integration?

    Hi,

    When setting up Salesforce integration for a form, I want to send the submission as a PDF to the salesforce contact.

    This form is only for the existing Contacts.

    So when I select "Find Existing Record" option while setting up the Salesforce integration, I do not get the option of "Attachments" to be able to Send the Submission PDF to salesforce.

    Why is that?

    Hi Abhinav,

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. To update an existing record, you will need to Create or update a record. It's easy to do. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Settings in the top bar.

    2. Now, in the left menu, click on Integrations.

    3. Under the search bar, click on Salesforce to continue.

    4. Select Create or Upgrade a Record as action.

    5. In the bottom, click on Save to continue.

    6. Now, enable the Update an Existing Record to ON, in next right.

    7. Then, you can enable the Attachments to ON in next right, and editing under Submission PDF if necessary.

    8. To finish, click on Save in the right bottom to apply all the changes.

    I understand this option is available when you select "Create or Update a Record" option.

    In my scenario, this form is only for existing contacts. So this option is not valid so much. I even tried using this option, it basically overwrites the mapped fields if it an existing contact. We do not want that.

    That's why i select the second integration option "Find existing record". And when i do that, there is no option to do an Attachment for the Submission form.

    Is it not possible for "Find existing record" option?

    Hi Abhinav,

    The Create or Update a Record option in the Salesforce integration does allow you to attach submission PDFs, but it comes with the risk of overwriting existing mapped fields when updating records. On the other hand, the Find Existing Record option is specifically designed to locate and associate submissions with existing Salesforce records without making any changes. This method does not support updating those records, meaning you can't attach the submission PDF or modify fields using this action. As a workaround, you can use Zapier to automate finding the record and adding the Submission PDF in Salesforce.
