Inquiry About Section-Based Timer Feature in Jotform

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently developing a questionnaire in Jotform that consists of five different sections, with each section requiring a specific time limit to complete. For example:

• Section 1: 5 minutes
• Section 2: 10 minutes
• Section 3: 15 minutes, and so on.

I would like to ask if Jotform has a built-in feature or any recommended workaround that allows me to set a timer for each individual section. Ideally, once the allotted time for a section is up, the participant should no longer be able to answer questions in that section and should be automatically directed to the next one, which starts its own timer with a different duration.

Is there a way to implement this functionality in Jotform? Your guidance or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Currently, Jotform does not have a built-in feature that allows you to set separate timers for individual sections within a single form, where each section automatically locks and moves to the next after its time limit expires.

As a workaround, Jotform offers a Global Countdown widget that can be set to automatically submit or block the form when the timer runs out. This again applies to the entire form rather than sections. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element button at the upper left side of the panel to open the Form Element menu.
2. Go to the Widget tab, search for the Global Countdown widget and add it to your form.
3. Click on the Wand icon, set up the time you want for the user to consumed, click on the Dropdown Arrow icon in the Action field and select either Submit Form or Block Form option.
4. Then, click on the Update button to apply changes.

While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers.
