Pending for Task show status as Waiting for approval

    Dear Support,


    I have a workflow where there is a step that assigned a Task to someone to process, however in the Form status of this task is show as waiting for XXX approval. Apparently it's not an approval step so can you (JotForm) fine tune the status so it reflect a more meaningful status?

    Hi kflok,

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I understand that you have a workflow step assigned as a task, but a different form status shows, even though it is not an approval step.

    Sure, we can look into this for you. We’ll just need access to your account to do that. Don't worry, you can disable that again after we're done checking things out. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In the upper-right corner of your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the small window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. In the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.

    4. Then, on the bottom-right side of the page, toggle Jotform Support Access to the On position.

    Hi kflok,

    When I checked your workflow, I noticed that the first If/Else condition triggers the email based on the specified condition. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:

    When a filler submits the form, they don't have the option to set the Preferred cost or put the flight cost. So, it sends the email to this nrazak@monin.com email and waits for the Preferred cost value. If you want to directly send the request to the Approver, then you need to show the Preferred cost field to the filler so they can fill out the field. Or you can set the condition like this:

    So, when they don't put any value in the Preferred cost field, it will send it to the approver. If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better? If the issue persists, can we make a test submission to check the issue properly?

    Hi Arghya,

    Thanks for your explanation but actually I have no complain on my flow. What I am complaining is that since the status of the form is "Wait for XXXX" as shown at the bottom, why the status on top show "Waiting for XXXX's approval" while obviously it is not an approval steps. I Hope you get me, thanks!

    Hi kflok,

    I checked your flow, and in the inbox, there must be some kind of delay with the status shown in the approval step below. Based from your screenshot earlier, it shows there that the submission was edited, which basically restarts the flow, so the Waiting for XXXX's approval appearing at the top is correct according to how your workflow is setup.

    It would be great if you can let us know know again if you get an instance where the flow is restarted after editing the submission, and no approval action has been taken yet, so we can check.

    Hi Lorenz,

    I don't think it's due to restart of workflow because the last step obviously is waiting for Ada to complete the assigned task while status at the top showing waiting Ada approval.

    Hi kflok,

    I checked, and it seems that the task you are referring to is now completed and is no longer showing that it is waiting for Ada's approval. Can you confirm?
