Hi Jotform Support,
My account is set to the correct timezone (Australia/Brisbane) and the ISO 8601 - YMD time format. However, every time I add a new Date field to a form, the default format still shows as MM-DD-YYYY (US format).
ALSO, in my forms it when i get someone to sign it is always defaulting back to the US time zone. as uit thinks my form is in a day prior.I want all new date fields to default to DD-MM-YYYY without having to manually change the settings for each field.
Can you please advise:
- Is there a way to globally change this behaviour across all future forms?
- Or can my account be set to always use Australian date formatting (DD-MM-YYYY) by default?
This issue is affecting client-facing documents, so I'd appreciate a fix or workaround that ensures consistent formatting.
Thanks,
-

Hi Dean,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.
Currently, there is no global setting to default all new Date fields to DD-MM-YYYY format or to set the timezone for all forms automatically. Each Date field's format and timezone need to be set manually within the form.
For timezone settings on appointment fields, you can change it by clicking the Gear icon on the Appointment field, then going to the Advanced tab to select your desired timezone (e.g., Australia/Brisbane).
Unfortunately, the default date format for new Date fields remains MM-DD-YYYY (US format) unless manually changed per field.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi Dean,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. When adding a date field, the default format is MM-DD-YYYY. Unfortunately, it's not dependent on the Timezone you selected.
While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
