    Hi Team,

I am trying to use an action button in a jotform table to send manually send a webhook to Zapier. I have followed the jotform video (

    as described.

The issue I have is the webhook also triggers when a new form is submitted. I ONLY want to send data to the webhook on the button click NOT on form submission (as shown in the video).

I cannot find a way to stop the trigger on submission.

Can you please advise how to stop trigger on submission.

    Hi James,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. Let me help you with that:

The webhook in Jotform Tables triggers automatically on form submission by default. To only send data to the webhook when you click the action button and prevent it from triggering on submission, you should use the Send Data via Webhook action button in Jotform Tables instead of the form's webhook integration.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. Go to Jotform Tables and open your form submissions.
    2. Add a new column by clicking the Add button at the end of the table.
    3. Select the Buttons tab and choose Send Data via Webhook, then click Next.
    4. Enter a name for the column and click Next.
    5. Enter your webhook URL and complete the integration.

Now, the webhook will only trigger when you manually click the button in the table, not on form submission.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I have done this. When I create the botton and connect the webhook - the integration automatically appears on the form integrations section

    Hi James,

When you create the Send Data via Webhook button in Jotform Tables, the webhook integration automatically appears in the form integrations section by design. This is because the webhook URL is registered as an integration for the form.

Currently, there is no way to prevent the webhook from showing up in the form integrations once set up via the action button. However, the webhook will only send data when you manually click the button in the table, not on form submission.

If you want to avoid automatic webhook triggers on submission, make sure you do not enable webhook integrations directly in the form settings.

I have not enables webhook integrations in the forms settting - however the webhook is triggering whenever a new submission is created

    Hi James,

If the webhook triggers on new submissions even though you haven't enabled webhook integrations in form settings, it might be due to the webhook being registered automatically when you add the Send Data via Webhook button in Jotform Tables.

Currently, this webhook registration causes it to trigger on every new submission by default. To avoid this, ensure no other webhook integrations are active in your form settings or connected apps.

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable this automatic trigger while using the action button. The webhook will send data on submission unless removed from the form integrations.

You may consider removing the webhook from the form integrations and only use the action button for manual sending, but this might require reconfiguring your setup.

    Hi James,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The behavior you're seeing is expected, webhooks are triggered automatically whenever a submission is made on the form, Even when the webhook is added from the Jotform Tables view.

Adding the webhook column gives you the option to manually re-trigger the webhook if needed (for example, if it didn’t fire the first time), but it doesn't disable the automatic trigger when a submission is received. Once the column is added, the webhook will run every time a new submission is made.

At the moment, it's not possible to prevent the webhook from triggering on submission. That said, we’ve gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers as a feature request. Whether or when it gets implemented depends on the team’s priorities, feasibility, and demand from other users. If there are any updates, we’ll be sure to let you know in this thread.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding—we appreciate it.

    Thanks Ravi.

Are you aware of any other work around - to send data from Jotform table to Zapier ONLY when the button is pressed in the table?

Appreciate any support you can provide

    Cheers

    Hi James,

The Send Email action button can be assigned to a dedicated email template that's not sent when the form is submitted. I believe you can also configure Zapier to trigger when an email is received on a specific mailbox. Let me show you how to create a Send Email action button:

    1. In Jotform Tables, click on the Add button at the end of the rows, and click on the Buttons tab.
    2. Now, select Send Email, click on the Next button, and enter a column name, then click on Next again.
    3. Select the email you want, or click on the Create an Email button to set up a new one as needed.
    4. Then, click on the Create Column button, and you're done.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.
