2-Stage Form set up

    Hi,

I have a two-stage form, and I’d like the information to be submitted even if Stage 2 is not completed. I’m aware of the “Save and complete later” option, but that still requires the user to make a decision. Instead, I want the form to be treated as submitted once Stage 1 is complete, with Stage 2 being optional—something the user can choose to skip or close off the from.

    How to we achieve this?

Hi Nick! To have your form treated as submitted after Stage 1, with Stage 2 optional, you might consider using conditional logic or a setup where Stage 2 fields are optional and the form can be submitted without completing them. Also, enabling the "Save and Continue Later" feature allows users to save progress, but since you want automatic submission after Stage 1, you could explore customizing your form flow with conditions or separate forms linked via workflows. For detailed steps and options, you can check the guide available through the button below for more insights on managing partial submissions and drafts.

    Hi Nick,

The best way to achieve what you want to do is to redirect form 1 to another form. You will need to create 2 separate forms for this. The first form will show the contact form page, and the second form will show the follow-up questions.

What this will do is, after filling up the first form and pressing submit, instead of a Thank You Page, they will be redirected to your 2nd form where the follow-up questions will show up.

Once you have your 2 forms set up:

    • Go to the Settings page of your form.
    • Then go to the Thank You Page.
    • Then select Redirect to an external link after submission and enter the 2nd form's link.

On the 2nd form, can we have it redirect to the thank you page even if the user click on cancel?

    Hi Nick,

I'm afraid you can only choose one option, either to show the Thank You page or redirect the user to a different page. An alternative would be to show the Thank You Page and give the user the option to fill out the second form. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In the Thank You Page, click on the Action Buttons, then select Fill Another Form.

    2. In the Enter a Button Name, you can add a text instructing the user to fill out the second form, then Select the Form to Fill Out. Once done, click on Create.

Here is what the user will see when they submit the form:

So it is not possible to link the cancel button to redirect to an external link?

    Hi Nick,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to link a cancel button to Redirect to an external link after submission. As a workaround, you can add a Single Choice field at the first form asking users if they wish to continue to the second form. Based on their selection, you can set up conditional logic to redirect them to different Thank You pages accordingly. It's easy to do. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In Form Builder, click Add Elements on the left side of the page.
    2. Under the Basic tab, click on Single Choice element. 2 Stage Form set up Image 1 Screenshot 60

Setting up the Change Thank Page Page conditional logic when a user selects Yes:

    1. In Form Builder, click Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
    2. Go to Conditions on the left.
    3. Click on Change Thank You Page option.2 Stage Form set up Image 2 Screenshot 71
    4. Copy the conditions below, and under the DO section, select the Redirect to URL option.
    5. Under the URL section, paste the Form URL of your second form.
    6. Click the Save button once done.2 Stage Form set up Image 3 Screenshot 82

    Result screencast

    User selects Yes:

    User selects No:
