Hello,
I am attempting to create a form that will allow up to 5 employees to select the same day for vacation during a calendar year. Each "appointment time" for each employee needs to be for 24 hours in length due to our employees working 24 hour shifts. How can I make that happen?
Thank you.
Brian

Hi Brian,
I understand you're looking to create a form where up to 5 employees can select the same day for vacation, with each appointment time being 24 hours long. With Jotform’s new [appointment field](https://www.jotform.com/widgets/appointment-slots) you can determine when, how long, and how often meetings can take place. The appointment field also enables you to permit group meetings and limit the number of people who can sign up for a single time slot.
I hope this helps!

Hi Brian,
You can set the appointment length to 24 hours by customizing the duration in the Appointment Element's availability settings. To allow up to 5 employees to select the same day, set the Appointment Type to Group and set the maximum attendees per time slot to 5 in the Advanced tab of the appointment field properties.
This setup will let multiple employees book the same 24-hour slot without conflicts.

Hi Brian,
Set the appointment length to 24 hours in the Availability settings. Then, under the Advanced tab, choose Group for Appointment Type and set the maximum attendees to 5. This lets multiple employees book the same 24-hour slot.

To create 24-hour appointments for up to 5 employees on the same day, set the appointment duration to 24 hours and select Group type with a max of 5 attendees in the appointment settings.

Hi Brian,
I understand your requirements, and you can create the form you need by following the steps outlined below.
Let me walk you through the detailed steps to set this up correctly:
- Add the Appointment field to your form by clicking on the Add Form Element icon in the Form Builder.
- Open the Appointment Properties by clicking the gear icon on the Appointment field.
- Set the appointment duration to 24 hours: Under the Availability tab, choose the Custom min option and enter 1440 minutes (which equals 24 hours) as the appointment length.
- Enable group appointments: Go to the Advanced tab, set the Appointment Type to Group.
- Limit the number of attendees: In the same Advanced tab, set the Maximum Attendees Per Time Slot to 5. This allows up to 5 employees to select the same 24-hour slot.
This setup ensures that multiple employees can book the same day-long appointment slot without conflicts.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

Hi Brian,
I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, and I ran into the same issue. Take note that entering 00:00 to 00:00 on your Appointment widget intervals means that there's no available time slot. To fix the issue, you can enter 00:00 to 24:59 on your Appointment widget intervals to allow users to book a 24-hour time slot on your form instead. Check out the screenshot below:
As you can see, the users can only select one time slot per day. After that, can you test your form to see if it's working as expected? As for your other question, I've moved that to a new thread. You can check that out here.
As soon as we hear back from you, we can move forward with a solution.

Great...that worked! Is there a way to allow users to select multiple days in the same month/year? For example, I want to select January 4th, 5th and 10th as vacation days. I can select the 4th, but when I select the 5th, it doesn't maintain that selection in addition to the new selection (the 5th)? Essentially, I would like to allow users to submit all their vacation requests in one submission.
Thank you.
Brian

Hi Brian,
Regarding your question about allowing users to select multiple days in the Appointment Element for vacation requests in one submission, currently Jotform does not support selecting multiple time slots from a single appointment field. As a workaround, you can add multiple appointment fields to your form to show additional appointment fields only if users want to add more vacation days. This way, users can submit all their vacation requests in one submission by selecting multiple days across these multiple appointment fields.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Andreas,
Even when selecting (5) in the "Maximum Attendees Per Time Slot" under the Advanced Tab will not allow (5) employees to choose the same date?
Thank you.

Hi Brian,
I confirm to you that if you set the Maximum Attendees per Time Slot to 5, that time slot can be selected 5 times before becoming unavailable. So it will allow 5 of your form fillers to select it.
Also, if you want to allow only the days 4th, 5th and 10th to be selected in your appointment field, doing that is easy, let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, click on your Appointment field and then click on the Gear icon on its right side.
- In the properties panel on the right side of the screen, click on the Limits Tab.
- Under Start & End Date, set the period between January 4th and January 10th.
- Under Vacation and Holiday, set the Start Date to January 6th and the End Date to January 9th.

Thank you Vincenzo. I do have the Maximum Attendees per Time Slot set to 5, but it is still only allowing one slot each time. Not sure what to do with it.

I deleted the original appointment field and added a new one. Now, when I make the enter "24:59" for the interval to allow for a 24 hour appointment, I receive the message "Invalid format".

Hi Brian,
I’ve cloned your form and tested it on my end to see if I could replicate the issue. Upon checking it, I noticed that the Appointment element hadn’t been fully configured yet. To proceed with testing, I went ahead and set up the appointment using the existing Appointment field you added to your form. Everything appears to be working as expected. Check out the screencast below to see my result:
Can you try configuring the appointment again? if the issue persists, can you share with us a screen recording of what’s happening so we can try to replicate it on our end? You can share the video recording on any public sharing platform like Google Drive or Dropbox, or you can simply use Loom to record the video and share the video link with us.
Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

Shaira,
Regarding the 24 hour time slot, I added a second available time frame of 0:00-24:59 and it allowed the user to choose that as a selection. Now, even thought I have a maximum of (5) persons able to select the same time slot, it is only allowing (1) person to select a time slot. For example, I submitted a request for January 4, 2026. The appointment successfully appeared on my Google calendar and I received an email with the completed form. I attempted to submit another appointment for January 4, 2026 for another user, and that date was grayed out not allowing me to choose.

Hi Brian,
If I understood it correctly, you want the duration for 24 hours and 5 available slots per day? If so, you can use the Weekly Appointment Widget instead:
Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

Unfortunately, that will not work for this situation. I need to have the users select days throughout an entire calendar year...so the weekly will not work. Thank you.

Hi Brian,
You can use the Date Reservation widget, which will allow your form users to select multiple dates. Here's how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, on the left side of the screen, click on Add Element.
2. On the left panel, go to Widgets tab.
3. Search for Date Reservation.
4. Click/Drag Date Reservation to add into the form.
5. On the right panel, set Days limit to 0.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
