Using Dynamic Field Tags inside HTML in Paragraph Field

Display a dynamic PDF download link inside a JotForm Paragraph field.

The link text should be "click" and when clicked, it should download a PDF whose filename is based on another form field (e.g. a Short Text field).

    My goal:

I want to let users click on the word “click” to download a specific PDF, where the PDF filename or URL is dynamically generated based on earlier form input.

Is there any way to dynamically inject the value of a field into an anchor tag (<a>) inside a Paragraph field?

If not, can you suggest a proper workaround?

    Thank you!

    Hi sarveshshukla075,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Currently, you cannot dynamically inject a field value directly into an anchor tag (<a>) inside a Paragraph field in Jotform. However, here’s a workaround:

You can create a dynamic PDF download link by using the PDF Link tag {pdf-link} in your email notifications or autoresponders, which automatically generates a link to the PDF submission. The filename or URL can be based on form input by customizing your PDF through PDF Editor.

Alternatively, you can add a static link in the Paragraph field and customize your PDF document with dynamic fields using PDF Editor, where you can insert form field values that populate dynamically in the PDF content.

This way, users can click on a link labeled "click" to download the PDF with dynamic content based on their earlier input.

    Hi Sarvesh,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, dynamic PDF downloadable link in Paragraph Field is not possible since the PDF technically generates only when the submission is made. Alternatively, you can attach a PDF to the Notification Emails. Attaching your submissions as PDF files to your Notification Emails is easy. Let me walk you through it:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on the Settings tab.

    2. In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Emails.

    3. Hover your mouse over the Notification Email element and click on the Pencil icon.

    4. Click on the Advanced tab, toggle Attach PDF to the On position, and select the PDF file you created.

    5. Now, scroll down, click on Save, and you're done.
