Share a form as a template with a single user

    Hi there

I want to share a form I designed with another user so she can edit it further for her own use in Jotform. We are both paid up Jotform subscribers.

Share as a template seems to make a form public and I dont want to do that, only share an editable form so it appears in their jotform workspace on their end.

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

Currently, sharing a form as a template in Jotform makes it public, which is not what you want. Unfortunately, Jotform's standard plans do not support sharing an editable form directly with another user in a private way that appears in their workspace.

However, you can share the form URL with the other user so they can clone the form into their account and edit it independently. Here’s how:

    1. Open your My Forms page and click on Create Form.
    2. Click on Import Form and then select From a Webpage.
    3. Paste your form URL and click Create Form.
    4. The form will open in the Form Builder for editing.

This way, the other user can have their own editable copy without making your form public.

If you need multi-user collaboration with shared editing rights, consider upgrading to Jotform Enterprise, which offers form sharing with edit permissions within your team.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

This is incorrect. I have a colleague who get's an option to share with contacts when she clicks on share as a template.

I see no such option on my interface. Please clarify how to see this option

    Hi Jonathan,

The option to share a form as a template with specific contacts is available in some accounts but not all. This feature may depend on your account type or recent updates to the interface.

To see this option, make sure you are on the My Workspace page, hover over your form, click More, then Share as Template. If the "share with contacts" option does not appear, it might not be enabled for your account yet.

For now, sharing the form URL for cloning or using collaboration links in Form Builder are alternatives.

    Hi Jonathan,

The option to share a form as a template with specific contacts is currently available only for Jotform Enterprise users. This feature is not enabled for standard paid accounts.

If you are interested in this capability, you might consider upgrading to Enterprise, which allows sharing forms with edit permissions directly with other users on your server.

For now, you can share the form URL for cloning or use the collaboration link in Form Builder to allow others to edit the form temporarily.
