Template Suggestion

We built a form last year for a school fund raiser candy sale. We offer ~20 varieties and built the form with the back end in mind so each column would show what the user ordered and we could build orders easily.

However, the front end of the form was overwhelming and did not provide a good user experience.

Can you look at our 2024 form, as well as the submissions layout, and recommend a better template?

    Hi Christy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked your form, and it looks good overall. Do you have any specific changes in mind that you’d like to make, or have you received any user feedback we should consider? That will help us suggest the best improvements.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

Users thought there was too much to scroll through. I can start by editing the descriptions, but I wonder if there's a nicer way to arrange the images?

I like the look of this Bread & Pastry order form, but I think all of the collected information will appear in one big column in the back end.

    Hi Christy,

Yes, based on the template sample you shared, your form is currently using the Product List element, which displays all selected products in a single column in the submission table. This setup is recommended and commonly used for product sales because it makes it easy to view all items and their descriptions in one place. This would also:

    • Great for fundraisers and ecommerce-style forms.
    • Group products
    • Show images + prices in a clean grid
    • Include quantities and product options
    • Automatically calculate totals
    • Condense the user interface

You can check out our page on How to access and use the Product List field. If your concern is the scrolling and user experience, I’d suggest using the section collapse field, which you can use to group similar products under collapsible headings or categories. Visit this guide on How to Show or Hide Multiple Fields Conditionally With Section Collapse.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you, that just might work!
