Hi James,
Unfortunately, Ticket Purchases widget does not support conditional logic to preselect or auto-select items. It’s a dynamic widget, and its values can only be selected manually by the user, not set programmatically through conditions or prefill.
While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Actually the reason I was looking for a way to control the inventory widget with conditional logic was so the customer could select a choice from multiple choices then their choice would be recorded and an inventory reduction marked
The Ticket Purchases does that, it restricts selection to inventory. Only allows one selection and returns the value of the label of the selection.

The Ticket Purchases widget is a great choice for limiting selections based on inventory. It allows only one selection per user and records the label of the selected item, which can then be used in reports or notifications. It also automatically reduces the inventory count upon form submission.
However, as we noted, the widget doesn't support conditional logic to auto-select or prefill values based on earlier form answers. Selections still need to be made manually by the user. If your goal is to have the user choose from multiple options and ensure their selection reduces inventory, then the Ticket Purchases widget is the right tool, as long as you're okay with the manual selection step.
