How can I add a column to my submissions table that separates the tax?

I need to file sales taxes and need to know the total tax collected by date

is there a solution to this? Can I add a column which will pull that info so I can tally in the downloaded spreadsheet?

    Hi canadianjpa,

If you're using the Product List element, unfortunately, it's not possible to create a direct column to calculate the tax separately in your submission tables. To achieve this, you’ll need to add a separate field or add a hidden Form Calculation widget to extract the tax from the product list total. This way, it will appear in a separate column in your submission tables. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element menu on the left side of the page.

    2. Click on the Widgets tab and search for the Form Calculation widget and add it to your form field.

    3. Right-click on the widget and click on Hide.

    4. Next, click on the Wand icon beside the widget and click on Add Field, then select the product list.

    5. Create the formula. For example, if you have 10% tax, the formula should be Product List x (10/110). Click on the save button once done.

Note that this is only applicable for future submissions. Existing submissions won't calculate the tax in submission tables.

Will this work for different tax rates, as our tax rate varies based on the Province the order is placed in.

    Hello canadianjpa,

The sample my colleague have created is for a 10% tax rate from the total of your Product List Element, if you are using one. If the tax varies, then additional conditions may apply depends on how it's being calculated. Can you share with us the form URL that you are currently working on so we can also look into it and check possible workarounds?

Once we have a better idea of what’s going on, we’ll be able to come up with a solution.

    Hi Canadian,

Yes, we can do this even when you have different taxes set up based on your province. We just need to assign calculation values to your province field options and use a different calculation. Let me show you how to set it up:

    1. In Form Builder, click on your Province field and on the Gear icon next to it.
    2. Next, click on the Options tab, and Enable Calculation Values.
    3. Enter the tax rate for each option accordingly.

    4. Click on the Add Element button on the left, and click on the Widgets tab.
    5. Next, select the Form Calculation widget to add it to your form.

    6. Use the Add Field button on the right and mathematical operators to create a similar calculation and click on the Save button.
