    Hi -

I'm trying to create sign up sheet that will allow participants to choose 3 sessions (there are a total of 25 available). I would also like to limit each session to 30 participants. I see how to limit choices to 3, but I can't figure out how to cap each session to 30 while limiting to 3 choices.

    Thanks so much!

    Hello jlawson2,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform support. To achieve this, you can use the Gift Registry Widget. Let me show you how:

    1. 1. In Form Builder, on the left side of the screen, click on Add Form Element.
    2. 2. On the left panel, go to Widgets.
    3. 3. Search for Gift Registry and drag it to add into the form.

    1. On the right side of the widget, click the wand icon to open the settings.
    2. Add {number} next to each option to set the selection limit.
    3. Finally, click Update Widget to save the changes.

That is great for the limit! Is there a way to require participants to choose three of the choices?

    Hi jlawson2,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to perform a calculation and the condition at the same time with the Gift Registry widget about its quantity. You can only set a maximum selection for the widget that will restrict the form responder to select more beyond the max selection requirements. Let me show you how:

    1. In the added Gift Registry widget, click the Wand icon.
    2. Go to the General tab.
    3. Under Max Selection, set the number of max items to be selected.
    4. Click the Update Widget at the bottom once done. How to Set a Limit on the Number of Options a User Can Select and Limit the Number of Users per Option Image 1 Screenshot 30
    5. Here's the result. How to Set a Limit on the Number of Options a User Can Select and Limit the Number of Users per Option Image 2 Screenshot 41

In this case, the form user can only select between 1–3 options from the gift registry widget based on the given sample I made by setting the max selection to 3. We do have a couple of widgets like the Inventory widget that I guess would achieve the workaround you want. But can you explain a bit more about your workaround, so I can provide you with a suitable resolution?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.
