After experiencing limited access to healthcare, innovative solutions expert Richard Walsh set out to improve the status quo. The result? Dozens of nonprofit and public health organizations have improved patient experiences and access.

Walsh’s desire to make an impact with JustWorks Consulting and as a Jotform Enterprise partner is evident.

“My focus is not just on capturing data, but doing something with it so that the first time an organization engages a client, they know everything they need to provide the best possible experience,” says Walsh.

Everything starts with a form. And thanks to Jotform’s innovative approach to what a form can be, it’s become the central starting point for many organizations’ workflows.

Reducing complexity for public health and social services

Public health and social services workers often manage intense situations with outdated or complex systems, making it challenging to maintain integrated, compliant datasets, train staff, and report on positive outcomes to secure funding.

Walsh recommends Jotform Enterprise to clients in these sectors because “it’s incredibly user-friendly without sacrificing function.”

One such client, Public Advocates in Community re-Entry (PACE) Indianapolis, helps previously incarcerated individuals access services for job placement, mental wellness, substance use recovery, and housing.

Using Jotform Enterprise, PACE empowers community justice partners from 92 counties to submit applications on behalf of individuals who need services.

PACE staff then use another form to conduct mental health assessments over the phone. The results are securely attached to individual profiles in Jotform Tables, and used to generate custom PDFs that are shared with referral partners.

For greater transparency, JustWorks uses Jotform’s API to create pages on PACE’s website where individuals waiting for services can check the status of their application.

“Jotform Tables is a fantastic visual database tool,” says Walsh. “It moves my clients from spreadsheets that are difficult to maintain to a web-based format where we can apply conditional logic and automation.”

In addition to making his clients more efficient, Walsh is expanding their vision of what can be achieved with data.

“Everything starts with a form,” says Walsh. “And thanks to Jotform’s innovative approach to what a form can be, it’s become the central starting point for many organizations’ workflows.”

Consider JustWorks client Health Plus Indiana, which provides low-cost health services and partners with Walgreens to provide free HIV and STI testing. Using forms on in-store kiosks, individuals can take a rapid-risk health screening, qualify for services, schedule care, request at-home test kits, or check in for immediate assistance. Using Jotform’s integration for Microsoft Teams, field testers get notifications about requests for care so they can take action.

Walsh is also working on a form that qualifies individuals for services and sends referrals to 50-plus providers statewide, creating a network of care.

Jotform does a great job of introducing features that transform how work gets done. It’s phenomenal. My clients have the space to think about how to do things even better.

Collecting actionable data for improved healthcare outcomes

To help clients transition from pen and paper, Walsh starts by coaching them to build forms with conditional logic, ensuring they gather everything they need from each person.

“The crawl, walk, run approach gets staff buy-in as they see their work take significantly less time and be more consistent,” says Walsh. “That allows us to introduce automation and preserve data integrity.”

For complex, repetitive tasks, Walsh recommends Workflows. For automating simpler tasks, he also uses action buttons in Jotform Tables.

As data flows from patient to provider, Jotform’s HIPAA-compliance features give Walsh and his clients the peace of mind to focus on delivering care.

“We can trust people to create forms and workflows on the fly because Jotform Enterprise is a secure solution with auditing and access-tracking for HIPAA,” says Walsh.

Expanding healthcare access for underserved populations

Serving non–English-speaking populations can present challenges when organizations lack the resources to translate materials. Fortunately, Jotform’s translation tools make it easy.

“Jotform has helped eliminate barriers for populations for whom English is not their primary language,” says Walsh. “The deep integration within Jotform’s new AI products is phenomenal.”

Walsh’s clients can also leverage Jotform’s automated reporting features to show their impact and secure grants for priority populations.

“For grant writing and renewal applications, having a dashboard showing historic performance and current outcomes is incredibly helpful,” he says.

Building better healthcare systems with Jotform Enterprise

Walsh is always thinking ahead to help his clients deliver the best care in the most efficient way possible.

“Jotform does a great job of introducing features that transform how work gets done,” he says. “It’s phenomenal. My clients have the space to think about how to do things even better.”

Walsh advises members of Jotform’s Partner Programs to work deals together to develop the knowledge and tools to become successful.

“Jotform’s Partner team has invested in me and my business, partnering with me to bolster my success,” says Walsh. “I feel supported, heard, and encouraged.”

As Walsh’s knowledge of the platform builds, so does his business.

“Jotform Enterprise is so easy to use and understand that it’s really easy to visualize where you can go with it,” says Walsh. “Once a need is identified and presented, the opportunities on the horizon never stop coming.”
