PDF Editor: How to hide empty fields in PDF?

Hi Jotform Support Team,

I'm using conditional logic to hide form fields in my Smart PDF (DPF) when they are not filled out — which works perfectly.

However, I also have section titles (headers) and what appear to be divider lines in the PDF that still show up, even when all the fields in that section are hidden due to being left blank. This makes the final PDF look cluttered with empty section headers and unnecessary lines.

Since I understand that the PDF Editor doesn’t support CSS, I’d like to know:

1. Is there a way to conditionally hide section titles and divider lines in the PDF when the section content is hidden or empty?
2. If not, is there a workaround (e.g., using other field types that behave like section titles but can be hidden)?
3. Are there plans to allow more control over layout elements like headers/dividers in the PDF Editor in the future?

Hi Tom,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you're referring to hiding the fields that do not have an answer, you can disable it on your PDF Editor. Let me show you how:

1. In PDF Editor, click on the Gear icon in the top-right corner of the page to open PDF Settings.
2. Put a check in the box next to Hide Empty Fields.

This will hide the fields that haven't been filled in the form when you are using it as PDF document. Check out the screenshot below to see how it'll look:

No issues with hiding and showing the questions
it’s more about tidying up the headings and dividers in the PDF editor.

Unfortunately, the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers.
