How to get hidden UTM parameters?

Hello Team,

I recently setup utm parameters as hidden form fields on my form. How do i check the details? It's not showing up when i checked the form submissions.

It'll only have data if the form link has appended UTM parameters. Is your form embedded in your website? If so, can you provide us the URL where the form is embedded?

Sure, I can look into this for you. I’ll just need access to your account to do that. Don't worry, you can disable that again after we're done checking things out. Let me show you how to do it:

1. In the upper-right corner of your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

2. In the small window that opens, click on Settings.

3. In the panel on the left, click on the Security tab.

4. Then, on the bottom-right side of the page, toggle Jotform Support Access to the On position.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

Hi Genie,

Do you have your form embedded to a website? If so, you can pass the UTM values from URL parameters on your page to the embedded form by following the steps below to capture the UTM values. Let me walk you through:

1. In Form Builder, click on the Add Element menu on the left side of the page.
2. Under the Basic tab, scroll down to Short Text, and drag and drop two Short Text element to your form.
3. Change their label exactly the same as the parameter names found in the URL just like as shown in the screencast below.

4. Ensure the Unique Name of the fields are also the same. These are the actual names used as variables in the URL parameter.

5. Hide these fields if you do not want them to show in the preview. To do that, right click the field then select Hide.

6. Here's an example link with appended UTM parameters in a page where the form is embedded.

https://shots.jotform.com/formID/utm/myform.html?utm_campaign=LyftMoney&utm_source=Google

7. If you're passing UTM values in the standalone form, just append the parameters in the form link just like in the link below.

Can you try to change the Clear Hidden Field Values to Don't clear? Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
2. Click on Form Settings on the left side of the screen.
3. Click on Show More Options below. 
4. On Clear Hidden Field Values, select Don't Clear.

If that doesn't fix it, can you share the link where the form is embedded?

I've gone ahead and cleared your form caches as an additional aid. Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.

Are the values of the utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_keyword automatically populated based on where the form is filled out? How is the form being filled up? Is it through your website (Form Being embedded)? If so, can you share the link where the form is embedded?

I made a test submission and utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_keyword  are empty. I'd like to understand the appended UTM parameters in a page where the form is embedded and the embed method you've used. Can you take a screenshot of it? That'll help us to understand better what’s going on. Let me show you how to post a screenshot to our Help Center:

1. On the Help Center page, scroll down to the Your Answer section and click on the Image icon.

2. Drag and drop your image into the Upload box, or click on it and select your file.

3. Then, click on the Add button in the bottom-right corner of the window.

4. To resize it, click on your screenshot and then click on one of the boxes in the corners, and drag it inward.

5. Once you're finished, click on the Post Answer button at the bottom right of the Your Answer section.
