Conditions to show or hide not working with spreadsheet to form

I'm using spreadsheet to form to check zip codes eligibility. I have the widget linked to a results field and will show "yes" if valid and if not a valid zip code the field is empty.

I then setup conditions to let them continue with the form if the zip code is valid. If it's not valid, it supposed to show an error message and not let them continue with the form. The yes works but the error message is not working.

I've tried the following options and it's still not working:

    • is empty
    • does not contain "yes"
    • is not equal to

How can I get this to show the error message and end the form?

I could update the spreadsheet as another workaround but that would be all the zip codes in the US and that is a lot of information to include.

    Hi Amanda,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. There seems's a contradicting conditions in your form. In the conditions I highlighted in the screenshot below, you are trying to hide the element which is already hidden:

In the above screenshot, you'll need to disable the first condition and edit the second problematic condition. Here's how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, select the Spreadsheet to Form and click on the Conditional Logic icon.
    2. Hover your mouse over the first condition and click on the Gear icon.
    3. Click on Disable.

    4. Hover your mouse over the first condition and click on the Pencil icon.
    5. Remove the DO condition related to error message.
    6. Click on Save.

Also, the way you set up your form, it seems complicated. I understand that the goal is not to allow the user to submit the form if the Zip Code is invalid. Below is a screenshot of conditions I created in the cloned version of your form:

Feel free to test this demo form by entering 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, and 666 in the Please enter your zip code below to check eligibility field. If you enter a different set of numbers, you will not be able to submit the form.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can help you with.

On the update/calculate field condition you have listed, i'm trying to replicate it but I don't have insert as an option. I have copy or calculate.

After cloning your form, it'll open up in Form Builder automatically. Now, you can edit the way you want it and publish it. Also, you can use the following condition for the Update/Calculate conditional logic:
