Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations

    Hi,

I am using the Form Calculation widget to sum several Number fields. How can I get the result of the Form Calculation that is displayed in the Submissions table to be numeric so that it can be totaled at the bottom of the table? Currently the result of the calculation is shown as text and can't be summed.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jeannine,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Could you take a screenshot of the Formula your using and send it to us? This guide will show you how to do that.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

    Hi Jeannine,

As a workaround for that, you can add another column for the formula and then hide it to avoid confusion. Here's how to do it:

    1. In Submission Table page, click the three dots in the top right corner of the column.
    2. Select Insert Column right. Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 1 Screenshot 80
    3. Under the Formula tab, select Advance Formula.
    4. Then, click on Next. Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 2 Screenshot 91
    5. Enter your desired Column Name and click on Next. Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 3 Screenshot 102
    6. Under the Column box, scroll down and select Number of Soups.
    7. Now, click on Create Column. Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 4 Screenshot 113
    8. Click on Add Summary.
    9. Finally, select Sum. Submission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 5 Screenshot 124

You also have the option to hide the column where you added the formula. Let me show you how:

    1. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the column.
    2. Then, select Hide ColumnSubmission Table Summary:Adding Calculations Image 6 Screenshot 135

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

Here is the calculation formula. I appreciate you providing a workaround but I really can't see why it should be needed. A calculation using numbers should result in a number. That is the only result that makes sense. Requiring a workaround just hides an obvious problem with Jotform.

    Hi Jeannine,

Sure, we can look into this for you. we’ll just need access to your account to do that. Don't worry, you can disable that again after we're done checking things out. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In the upper-right corner of your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the small window that opens, click on Settings.
