We need your help NOW to protect our New York State lakes and surrounding communities from NYSDEC overreach. Unless it's stopped, the overreach and damage will begin January 1, 2025.
We support the protection of true wetlands. But the NYSDEC now intends to broadly designate and restrict routine activities on lakes, not wetlands, including those with developed shorelines. This will restrict water quality management activities, recreational use of the lakes, and severely limit what can be done upland from lake shorelines threatening jobs, businesses, and property values across all of New York State. The negative impact on local economies will be devastating, decreasing tax revenues and raising taxes for all no matter how close or far one is from the lake.
Governor Hochul has the authority to delay implementation of the regulations. An online petition asking Governor Hochul to do just that, delay the regulations, has been prepared.
The online petition simply says: Governor Hochul, the NYSDEC and those affected by these new regulations are not ready for this change. We ask that you use your executive authority to delay implementation of the regulations until all issues and consequences can be fully understood and addressed.
Please consider signing this petition below and sharing it with your friends and followers by clicking on the links below.
Thank you for your support!
