How to Set an Access Code for your Documents in Jotform Sign

May 27, 2026

Jotform Sign lets you add an access code to your Sign documents for an extra layer of security. When enabled, recipients must enter the correct access code before they can open and sign the document.

This helps protect sensitive information and ensures only authorized recipients can access your Sign documents.

You can secure your Sign documents by adding an access code for specific signers before sending the document. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. In Sign Builder, in the green navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Send.
  2. Then, under the Recipients tab, in the Manage Signers section, on the right side of the signer you want to secure, click on the Key icon.

  1. Now, in the Set Access Code field that appears, enter the access code you want the signer to use before viewing and signing the document.
  2. Finally, click on Send to Sign to send the document with the access code enabled, and you’re done.

That’s it! Your recipients will now need to enter the correct access code before they can open and sign the document.
