Form Building: Combine Buyer and Seller Forms with Conditional Navigation

I have created 2 forms BUYER INFO and SELLER INFO.

I want to combine both forms into a single one, just having a 1st page that lets the client chose if he is Buyer or Seller. Once they chose, the form takes into the proper channel to complete the form.

I tried but is not working.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

You can show different sets of questions in a single form based on whether the user selects Buyer or Seller by using Conditional Logic to show or hide fields. Let me walk you through it:

First, add the Buyer/Seller choice and all questions

    1. Open your new combined form in Form Builder.
    2. Click on Add Element and add a Single Choice field at the top of the form with options like Buyer and Seller (this will be your first page/first question).
    3. Drag-drop all the Buyer-related fields and all the Seller-related fields into this same form (you can recreate them or clone from your existing forms).
    4. Select all Buyer-only fields and set them to Hidden by default, then do the same for all Seller-only fields (so they only appear when conditions are met).

Then, create conditions to show the right questions

Let me show you how to set up the conditions:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
    2. Click on Conditions on the left of the page.
    3. Click on Show/Hide Field to create your first condition.
    4. Set a condition like:
IF Buyer/Seller is Equal To Buyer
DO Show → select all the Buyer fields you want to appear.
    5. Click on Save, then create another Show/Hide Field condition:
IF Buyer/Seller is Equal To Seller
DO Show → select all the Seller fields you want to appear.

    Conditional logic example Screenshot 10

With this setup, when the user chooses Buyer, only the Buyer fields will show, and when they choose Seller, only the Seller fields will show. If your current attempt is not working, double-check that:

    • The correct field (your Buyer/Seller question) is selected in the IF part of each condition.
    • All relevant fields are included in the DO → Show list.
    • Those fields are hidden by default so they only appear when the condition is met.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Gabriel,

Other than the suggestion of Podo, you can also use the Iframe Embed widget to conditionally display the Buyer or Seller Information form based on the selection of the responder. In that way, you maintain separate forms and tables, but both are within the same form. Create a new form with the Single Choice field to ask the question if they're the seller or the buyer. Then add the Iframe Embed widget. After that, add the Iframe Embed widget; let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Elements in the upper left of the page to open the Form Elements menu on the left.

    2. Then, in the Form Elements menu, go to the Widgets tab, search for the Iframe Embed widget, and drag and drop it to add into your form.

    3. In the Widget Settings menu that opens on the right, copy and paste the form URL to display into the Frame URL section under the General tab.

    4. Once all is set, click on Update to finish.

    5. Now, click on the Gear icon on the right of the widget to open the Question Properties menu where you can adjust the width or height of the frame.

    1. While in Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

    2. In the menu that opens on the left, click on Conditions, and select Show/Hide Field Condition.

    3. Apply a similar condition for the buyer and seller as shown below, and once all are set, click on Save to finish.
