Webhook Integration: How to Pass Form Title Automatically for Dropbox and Zapier Automation

When using a web hook in a workflow, the form title is not included and cannot be added using any merge code. It also cannot be added as a merge field in the Dropbox integration.

Web hook in the integrations for the form itself passes it, but it's completely different with no configuration options which creates more problems than it solves for us.

Use case: client uses the Form Title as the folder name in Dropbox and their other project folders to ensure consistency and avoid any confusion. We can use the Form Title merge code in the Dropbox integration to nicely sync that up and send the files to the right folders, but we can't then use that to send to Zapier for the rest of the automation required.

Our workaround is to just double up by having a hidden field and getting the client to add the Form Title manually in there... but that is 100% going to be mistyped one day causing problems and breaking all the automation.

I hope I am just missing a trick here.. is there a way to merge the title into the hidden field instead of hard coding it?

The other advantage is that each time they duplicate the form (several times a week) there is one less manual step for them to get it working.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

From the available information, there is guidance on how to add and configure webhooks in forms and workflows, and how to set up the Dropbox integration and use form fields for folder names, but there is no option documented to automatically merge or inject the form’s title into a form field (such as a hidden field). The resources only describe:

    • Webhooks in forms and workflows – You can add a Webhook element in Workflows or use the Webhooks integration on a form, specify the URL, and optionally map body keys/values and headers using existing form fields. However, only fields that already exist on the form can be used as values; there is no mention of a special variable that represents the form title that can be mapped into a field.

    • Dropbox integration – When configuring Dropbox, you can set:

    • Main folder name (Enter folder name)
    • Subfolder per submission, which can be dynamically created based on form fields

The documentation confirms that folder names can be based on form fields, but it does not provide any method to automatically copy the form title into a field or to reference the form title directly in Workflows or in the Dropbox integration beyond the standard field-based options.

Because of that, the approach you’re already using — a hidden field that you manually keep in sync with the form title — is not described as something that can be automated or populated from the form title in the current documentation. There is also no documented way to have Workflows or the Webhooks integration expose the form title as a mergeable value that you can then forward to Zapier.

So, based on the information available, there is no built-in way to merge the form title into a hidden field or to have the workflow webhook automatically include the form title. Your current workaround with a hidden field is the only method reflected in the existing resources, even though it requires manual maintenance when duplicating forms.
