    Hi Team,

I deleted a column on a submission table. Now I cannot undo my work.

Why cannot I use the restore or undo feature anymore.

    Best,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.

Let me help you with that:

The reason you can no longer use the restore/undo feature in your Tables view is that the Restore option for Jotform Tables revision history is currently unavailable. You can still view the revision history of your table, but you cannot roll back to a previous version to bring back a deleted column.

However, you can reset your table’s columns back to the default structure that matches your form fields. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Go to your form’s Jotform Tables view.
    2. Click on the three dots icon next to the tab name at the top of the table.
    3. Select Reset columns to default from the menu.
    4. Confirm in the dialog by clicking on Reset to default.

This will restore the table columns to their original names and positions based on the form fields. Note that any custom columns you created in Tables will be moved to the end of the table after the reset.

    Additional notes:

    • Shared users do not have access to the Reset columns to default option.
    • The reset only affects the active tab you are viewing.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Peter,

While the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now, we've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers. Exactly when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

    Hi Peter,

If you're trying to restore to a previous version of your Table, the Restore option on Revision History is currently unavailable and in an improvement process due to known issues. Our development team is working to resolve these issues, and we will update you as soon as possible.

Can you share the name of the removed column and the removal date with us? So we can escalate it to the relevant team to ask if it's possible to recover the related column's data.

After we hear back from you, we'll move forward with a solution.

The removed column was the names of the customers.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'll let our developer team know about the field you're trying to recover. We'll notify you here as soon as we have updates to share.

We appreciate your patience while we're working on this.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for getting back to us. I see that there is a hidden column named "Customer Name". You can select it to display again as shown below:

I realized that the related column was added manually within the Table. If this column had data in it previously, can you give us the date of the action you took that removed the data from this column?

After we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with that.
