I am trying to transfer a form from one user to another. When I request the transfer, it says that I will receive a verification code in my registered email. I have tried five times, and the verification code comes after the time has expired. Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks for letting us know what’s happening — the verification code timing out is definitely frustrating.

Here are a few things you can try so you can complete the transfer successfully:

    • Make sure you’re logged into the correct Jotform account (the one that owns the form) and that you’re checking the registered email address for that account.
    • When you click Transfer Forms and it says a code was sent, keep the Data page open and:
      • Refresh your email inbox after a few seconds.
      • Also check Spam/Junk, Promotions, or Other tabs in case the email is filtered.
    • As soon as the code arrives, enter it right away on the Data page and click Verify before trying to select forms.
    • If the code is consistently arriving late, try:
      • Using a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and repeating the transfer steps.
      • Temporarily disabling any VPN, ad blocker, or privacy extension that might delay page updates.
      • Logging out of Jotform, logging back in, and then starting the transfer again from My Workspace → Profile Avatar → Settings → Data → Transfer Forms.

For reference, these are the normal steps to transfer forms:

    • Go to My Workspace.
    • Click your Profile Picture/Avatar in the top-right and choose Settings.
    • In the left menu, open the Data page.
    • At the bottom, click Transfer Forms.
    • Enter the verification code sent to your registered email, then click Verify.
    • Search for and select the forms you want to transfer.
    • Click Transfer Forms.
    • The new owner then needs to accept the transfer request from their Data → Pending Transfers section or from the email they receive.

A few limits and notes to keep in mind:

    • You can include up to 15 forms per transfer request.
    • You can create up to 20 transfer requests within 60 minutes.
    • When you transfer a form, its settings and styles move with it.
    • Forms cannot be transferred to or from HIPAA-friendly accounts or between different data regions.
    • You also can’t transfer Sign Documents, Workflows, AI Agents, or Apps.

If you want to transfer your account’s ownership, you can change your account’s email address from the Account Settings page. Let me know if that’s the case for you.

If the code is still always arriving after it expires, please tell me:

    • The email domain you’re using (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, a work domain).
    • Whether this happens on all browsers/devices you’ve tried.

With that, I can help you narrow down the cause and suggest the next best step.

The verification code is coming to my email about 20 minutes after the request.

    Hi Doug,

Could you try manually clearing your form caches from your account settings? Let me show you how:

    1. On your Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image icon.

    2. In the Dropdown menu, click on Settings.

    3. In the Settings menu, click on Clear Cache. And that's it, you're done.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.
