    Hello,

My small ad agency has used Jotform for years to create forms for client websites. All of the forms reside in my account, and I am nearing retirement. I need to transfer the forms to Jotform accounts my clients are setting up for their organizations. I have run into countless problems when attempting to transfer them. Some forms transfer easily without incident. In some cases, one or two forms cannot be transferred because of "other purchased products" messages I don't understand. And, frankly, some of my clients are not capable of participating in the transfer process. All this leads to my question: Can I pay Jotform to handle the transfers for me?

You don’t need to pay us for this, but I can walk you through the cleanest way to transfer everything and explain those “other purchased products” messages.

Here’s how to transfer forms from your account to each client’s own Jotform account:

    • Go to your Workspace page and click your Profile Picture/Avatar in the top-right.
    • Click Settings from the dropdown.
    • On the left menu, click the Data page.
    • Scroll down and click the Transfer Forms button at the bottom.
    • Enter the verification code that’s sent to your account’s registered email.
    • Search for and select up to 15 forms you want to transfer to that client.
    • Click Transfer Forms.
    • Your client then needs to log into their Jotform account, go to Settings → Data → Pending Transfers, click View Details, enter their verification code, review the list, and click Accept → Accept again to confirm.

A few important limits and notes:

    • Each transfer request can include up to 15 forms, and you can create up to 20 transfer requests in 60 minutes.
    • When you transfer a form, its settings and styles go with it.
    • Forms cannot be transferred to or from HIPAA-friendly accounts or between different data regions.
    • You can’t transfer Sign Documents, Workflows, AI Agents, or Apps.

About the “You can’t transfer forms that are connected to other Jotform products” / “other purchased products” type messages:

    • This means the form is linked to other Jotform products and must be disconnected first.
    • Check and disconnect the following, if applicable:
      • Workflow: In Form Builder, click Settings (orange bar at the top) → go to the Workflows section and remove any connected workflows.
      • App: In Form Builder, go to the Publish tab → in Quick Share, scroll to the bottom and see if it’s connected to an app; if so, remove that connection.
      • AI Agents: In Form Builder, go to PublishAI Agents on the left (or bottom of Quick Share) and disconnect/remove any AI Agent using that form.
      • Tables: Open the form’s Tables (submissions) → check the tabs for any other connected forms or a Send Form Action Button column and remove those connections.
      • Boards: Open the form’s Boards view and remove any connected assets.
    • Also make sure:
      • The form is not added to another form’s Workflow Builder via Assign Form/Task.
      • The form is not added to any Jotform App via Add Form, Sentbox, or Report elements.
      • The form is not linked to another form’s submission table.
      • The form is not used in any AI Agent actions; if you created an AI Agent for it, delete that AI Agent and purge it from the Trash folder.
      • The forms you’re moving are in My Workspace, not a Team Workspace.

If you want to transfer your account’s ownership, you can change your account’s email address from the Account Settings page. Let me know if that’s the case for you.

We don’t have a paid “do-it-for-you” transfer service, but I can help you plan this so it’s as hands-off as possible for your less-technical clients. If you’d like, tell me:

    • Roughly how many clients and how many forms per client you have.
    • Whether any of the accounts (yours or theirs) are HIPAA or Enterprise.
    • An example of a form that shows the “other purchased products” message, so I can help you pinpoint what it’s connected to.

From there, I can suggest the simplest step-by-step plan so you can wrap this up before you retire with minimal back-and-forth with your clients.

Thank you. This is very helpful. If I can work out the “other purchased products” issue, I can handle the rest. Here is a form for which I get that message:

    Hi Vicky,

Let me help you with that:

Transferring your forms is done from your account’s Data page, and the Transfer Form button is located in a specific section there. Here’s how to find it and what it looks like:

    1. On your Workspace page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image in the top-right corner of the screen.

    2. In the window that opens, click on Settings.

    3. Then, click on the Data tab on the left.

    4. In the Transfer Form section on that page, you should see a Transfer Form button. This is the button you need to click to start a transfer.

    5. After clicking Transfer Form, enter the Authentication Code that is sent to your email address, click Verify, then select the form(s) and enter the new owner’s email to proceed.

If you are on the Data page and do not see a Transfer Form section at all, please let us know what you do see there (a short description or screenshot), so we can better understand what’s missing and how to proceed.

Reach out again if you need any other help.

    Hello Vicky,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry to hear that the Form fails to transfer to another account. Can you confirm the following details below to help us get to the bottom of the behavior?

    • Can you capture a video of what’s going on and share it? Loom works great, or you can upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox.
    • Is the Form within a Team Workspace?
    • Can you send a screenshot of the Console logs? Here's a guide on how to load Console logs.
    • What's the username of the Jotform account you're transferring the Form to?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.
