Hi there,
My team is having an issue with forms refreshing and wiping responses when they change the orientation of their phone when using Chrome. Is there a way to prevent this from happening. I have save and continue enabled.

Hi Fiona,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.
Regarding the issue of forms refreshing and wiping responses when changing phone orientation in Chrome despite having Save and Continue enabled, this can sometimes happen due to how browsers handle page reloads on orientation change.
One effective solution is to use the Jotform Mobile Forms app, which supports offline form filling and saves responses locally on the device, preventing data loss during orientation changes or connectivity issues.
Here’s how to use it:
- Download and install the Jotform Mobile Forms app on your device.
- Enable offline forms in the app settings by selecting the forms you want available offline.
- Fill out forms within the app, which saves data locally and syncs when online.
This approach helps prevent data loss caused by browser refreshes or orientation changes.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
Best regards,

Hi Fiona,
When using Jotform on mobile browsers like Chrome, changing the device orientation can sometimes cause the form to reload, which may clear any unsaved responses. This behavior is typically due to how the browser handles page refreshes during orientation changes especially if the form is embedded inside another site or iFrame.
Since you already have Save and Continue Later enabled, responses should be saved once they are actually stored in the draft (after clicking the Save button or when auto-save triggers). Nonetheless, if the user has not yet saved their progress before rotating the phone, any data entered on that page may be lost.
One practical way to avoid data loss is to switch to the Jotform Mobile Forms app. It allows users to fill out forms offline and automatically saves their progress on the device, ensuring that responses are preserved even if the screen orientation changes or the internet connection drops.
