    Hi Lance,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant. I'll do my best to help you until someone from the support team is available.

When editing a submitted request, fields that are set to be hidden in the form may still appear due to how the form's conditions or settings are configured. Hidden fields are often used for admin-only notes, calculations, or system-generated data and might still show during editing if conditional logic or the "Get Form Page URL" widget is not set up properly to hide them in edit mode.

To ensure fields remain hidden when editing submissions, you can use conditional logic combined with the "Get Form Page URL" widget to control visibility based on whether the form is in edit mode.

Let me know if you want guidance on setting this up.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Lance,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. When you edit a submission, fields hidden by conditions may appear if the conditions aren’t set to hide them specifically in edit mode. This is because the logic runs based on the original input, and in edit mode, the rules might not re-trigger unless configured to. You can add a Get Form Page URL widget and use it along with Conditional Logic to keep them hidden during edits. Let me show you how to add a Get Form Page URL widget to your form:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
    2. In the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, enter Get Form Page URL in the search bar, and drag and drop the widget to your form. Jotform Edit a Submission Image 1 Screenshot 40

You can easily show or hide fields based on the edit URL using conditions. Let me show you how:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder, and in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.

    2. In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Conditions.

    3. Then, select the Show/Hide Field option. (If you already have a condition set, first click on Add Condition, then select the Show/Hide Field option.) Jotform Edit a Submission Image 2 Screenshot 51

    4. Set the condition as you see below or according to your needs, and click on Save.
