How to prevent duplicate payment submission.

We have some forms that collect payment. We are having a problem with customers double submitting their form. I have looked at your unique submissions options and am wondering if they make work. The problem that I think we may have is that we allow our forms to be submitted via some kiosk laptops in our office. In this case wouldn't the IP restriction restrict the form from being submitted again on our kiosk laptops?

    Hi,

It seems that setting a Unique Question to prevent duplicate submission would suit your needs: How-to-set-Form-Limits-Based-on-a-Unique-Question

In this way, you can prevent duplicate submissions on your form using a certain field. For example, if you set the name field as the unique question the form will no longer accept submissions that will come from the same person (or with the same name).

I hope this helps. Let us know if it didn't meet your requirements.

I set up a form limit based on a unique question.  On the test I did this worked to prevent the submission of the form again, the problem is that we accept payment with this form as well and the payment was still processed through First Data.  Is there a way to prevent the payment from processing when the form is rejected?

    Hi,

The only option would be helpful to prevent duplicate, in this case, is  AUTHORIZATION ONLY, which would allow you to charge your customer later. However, this is not offered on the First Data Integration.

I hope this was helpful. Let us know if you have more questions.

We continue to struggle with duplicate submissions.  Apparently our customers are leaving their browsers open and accidentally submitting their forms minutes, days, or weeks later.  This most often occurs when they are using a cell phone.  Do you have any other ideas on how we can deal with this problem.  Over the weekend we had 4 customers resubmit.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

You can add a captcha field at the end of your form to prevent the automatic re-submissions.
